Postage Prepaid in Cash

The conditions persisting at that period of time had necessitated the P&T to adopt time saving & efficient methods to disperse the ever-growing problem of collecting, defacing & delivering Postal articles.
One innovative steps in this direction was the “Prepayment of Postage system” ( though prevalent even before the advent of postage stamps) in cash.
The same system has continued throughout the first half of the century - though not much difficulty must have been encountered them.
But now the conditions prevalent today are altogether different.

So to subvert this problem and to improve the efficiency, an another ingenious method was evolved, which obviated the necessity to mark each and individual article with the P-P-C cancellation..

With their widespread use in the 1970's and increasing popularity, it may soon prove to be a successor to the labour intensive methods used earlier.
