The Registration Cancellations

  Before the introduction of simple 'Town Mark Cancellations' for cancelling the stamps, the stamps affixed on registered cover were used to be cancelled by the same cancellation which were used for cancelling the stamps of un-registered letters.

  But during this period some post offices were using special 'registration cancellations' to indicate the date of posting. This is because of the introduction of modified registration marks having no date reference.
